Overfurnishing

It seems that a big trap sellers fall into is over-furnishing their home. It makes sense that people will want to customize their house but an economically better way to do it would be to sell the house they live in and then customize the new one. Expensively furnishing a modest house will usually create an odd structure no one else would want to buy, or make the selling price of the house far higher than the other houses in the neighborhood. It is very well-received advice to do renovations before selling a home but don't over-furnish!
