congrats, Xbox360!

http://www.informationweek.com/news/personal_tech/TV_theater/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=219200466 presents a very misleading article about XBOX360 play time finally tied with Sony play time. In the US.

"How is that possible!?" is probably what we're all thinking. "The Playstation 3 is the least popular new-gen console!"

Well apparently they decided that the Playstation 1, 2 AND 3 all count as "Sony play time". Turns out the PS2 is still being played so much that it took the Xbox360 a few years to become the leading console in play time.

Also, 19% is a lot.

"More Americans are playing newer consoles than the older models, Nielsen found. The Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii made up 50% of total usage minutes in June, while last generation consoles, such as Xbox, PS2 and Gamecube, made up only 31% of the total. Older gaming consoles, including the PS One, Atari 2600, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis and others, made up the remaining 19%."
