two peices of good news

I just heard on NPR a woman saying that she graduated from a (small) school in Kentucky specifically for low-income people in the Appalachian. She said that most of the graduates can't send their kids there because they make too much money. :)

Yesterday at the movie theater, an old woman asked me if "I love you Beth Cooper" was any good. I replied that it was mostly teenagers doing dangerous things, like crashing cars. She said that she wanted a love story since her husband had passed away 6 years ago and this was the only movie showing at this time. Hours later, she returned very happy. Apparently she went into the wrong theater and saw "Up" instead. For those that don't know, "Up" can be described as an old man getting over his wife's death. It was also the third time I heard it summarized as "really funny dogs". Go Pixar :)
